Snowberry Blush is a reduction print, where each color layer was carved out from a single block, creating a limited edition series of4 prints. Each print is numbered, titled, and signed on the front. Prints are shipped with a backing board and cellophane sleeve for protection.
This print was inspired by the pretty Snowberry plants I saw lining the rivers and streams of Idaho and Montana. The leaves turning from green to golds, pinks, and purples all growing in a colorful chaotic jumble with white berries edged in pink seeming to float on the top of it all. My aim with this print was to work in a more abstract style, using variable inking and design-as-I-go carving. I wanted to focus more on the color and bold white berries than being detailed and realistic. It is a beautiful wild riot of sweet colors and shapes - a feast for the eyes!
